Sometimes it's necessary to submit legal documents when you want to record lots or obtain permits. We’ve recently reformatted many of these documents so that they are locked for editing, making it easier for attorneys to fill out and staff to review.
The most recent locked template to be added to our directory is the Sidewalk Easement. Others available include the Stormwater Maintenance Covenant, Declaration of Common Elements, and Transit Easement. All templates are accessible online via the Development Forms and Applications directory and in the “Submittal Requirements” section on various process pages.
The primary reason for having locked documents is to expedite the review process. Our templates used to be easily editable by anyone, and once submitted for review, required significant staff time to ensure accuracy. Now, having only the required sections editable, staff can focus on those responses rather than combing through the entire document.
If you have questions or need more information, please don't hesitate to contact Christine Darges, Assistant Director of Development Services.
